I am a full-time college student and my CH is of the chronic persuasion. Due to the Verapamil, my hits have all but gone. There's at least 1 or 2 every other day and they are mostly mild (k2-k4). I can knock those out with a Monster drink, and some pacing. I have had some pretty severe annihilators during class, but they are few an far between. I try to avoid using the 'Trex shot, so as to not interfere with the busting process. A bust will last quite a while for me, usually about 7-10 days. I've had them last once for 14 days. It is hard to tell for sure, but I believe the Verapamil is losing efficacy.
I think this is true because the hits are coming daily, and with greater intensity. I did another buster dose Saturday night and all is well at the moment. I guess I'm telling y'all this because I just don't know what to do.
I have an appointment with my new Neurologist in a little more than a month. Should I try something different, or just go without meds and hope the busting continues to work? I don't always have the occasion to bust, so there might be a week or so with some pretty nasty CH. I cannot afford the multiple daily hits because of school. I can't be going in and out of class, and cannot carry oxygen around with me either. Dilemma of uber sux-ness. I have tried everything I could think of with meds…combos, multiple combos…most of that stuff I am so sensitive to, even the slightest most obscure side effects happen to me. Verapamil was the first one that worked, and now it seems as it is failing me too. Bleh! -Eric
