Cluster Headaches

Diagnosis: Summer 2005
Clusters started: No medical problems, St. Louis Missouri.

I've been having cluster headaches for a little over 10 years now. They are by far the worst pain I have ever had to endure. Let me tell you a little about how it goes. It's weird, every 17 - 18 months I will go threw a cycle. It usually lasts 3 - 4 weeks or so and I will get a cluster every morning about 30 minutes after I wake up. Sometimes it will last 30 minutes, sometimes 2 hours. Sometimes I will get them at night to, right before I go to bed. It's just a terrible thing to go threw. My pain is on the right side of my forehead right above my eye. Describing the pain is not possible, its such a oddly stabbing pain right above my eye and eventually my whole right side of my head will hurt and become sore to the touch. Eye waters and closes, nose runs, yawing, tiredness, it is so horrible. Sometimes I think about drilling a hole in my skull to relieve the pain or putting a gun in my mouth to end the pain. I wish there was something that would make them never come back, I would do ANYTHING to end them! It affects my life around my job & family. I don't want to be talked to, touched, even looked at, I just lay in a dark room, sometimes walk around in circles in the dark room. After the headache has passed I am totally drained of energy and do not want to do anything at all, I mean nothing, my mindset is totally changed for hours after the headache passes. Sometimes things are bad in life but nothing compares to the pain and paranoia that comes with these clusters. People around me don't seem to understand the pain that it causes or its merely an excuse to miss a little work because of them. I just want them to go away so I can get back on track.
